This book is just a novelty. Robert greene's books improved my entire life. Compared to 48 Laws of Power and 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene, this book is worthless. It barely skims the surface of the psychology of influencing people, with little tricks that might be useful sometimes.
80% is rehash of his prior books. the problem with the author is if you read one book you pretty much read them all.
And a lot of the techniques are VERY case specific.I will gladly pay ANYBODY 50 bucks if they can show me a technique that works that works anywhere and anytime that doesn't involve putting a gun to someone's head.Like I said, there are a few useful techniques but the book does not live up to its title. Why, might I ask, would you not just date the person that is more attractive than you if you thought they were so attractive. And how am I supposed to use that "technique" during an email, letter or a phone call. There are a few "techniques" in the book I found "kinda" useful, but they will certainly not work "anywhere" or "anytime". That's why I'm giving it one star. The title is a lie. There are several techniques that they claim will work "anywhere" and "anytime" and they wont. One of the "techniques" that you are supposed to use is that if your looking for a mate have an attractive person of the opposite sex with you when you want to attract a person your choosing.
Works for career, relationships, annoying neighbors, family etc. I would recommend this to anyone. Excellent book, very quick to read, and contains chapter summaries to help you learn the key points almost like a study guide. just helps you communicate effectively both verbally and non verbally. I have several copies that I loan out to friends. It's not a book on how to manipulate or be deceptive, but rather how to be perceived how you want to be perceived in order to achieve the things you want to achieve.
Very helpful if you work in teams a lot and get people of different backgrounds/beliefs/cultures on your team. I bought the book years ago, but still go back and revisit the highlighted areas every now and then - a lot of actionable advice. The advice in the book helps you build consensus and create a great working environment. A worthy buy. The book is very well organized and is written by a knowledgeable person.
